Central Campus Information Technology offers a variety of free instructor-led and online non-credit computer training courses.
Instructor-led Computer Training Courses
Instructor-led computer training courses are available to faculty, staff, students, and alumni in good standing. They are held in IT training facilities on campus and consist of classes and workshops. The classes are taught on Windows/Macintosh machines and include hands-on exercises. The workshops, which are led by IT subject matter experts, are generally lecture format.
Online courses are available to the faculty, staff, students, and alumni of the University of Houston. Over 2800 courses are available, including courses on Communications, Consulting, Customer Service, Finance and Accounting, Human Resources, Leadership, Management, Marketing, Process Improvement, Project Management, Quality Management, Strategic Planning, Information Technology, Team Building, and Personal Development.
The courses are rich in content and functionality, and include pre- and post-assessments to verify user knowledge. Many of these courses qualify as prerequisite education for professional certification exams or can be used to maintain professional certifications.
