Microsoft Word Dictation

Dictation lets you use speech-to-text to author content in Office with a microphone and reliable internet connection. Use your voice to quickly create documents.

In Microsoft Word, click on Dictate.

Then, if you want to create a transcription from someone talking, click on the 2nd microphone popup and choose Start Dictation.

This will transcribe the voice or sound heard.

 

You can also upload a video (mp4) or audio file (mp3).

In Microsoft Word click on Dictate, then transcribe.

Click Upload Audio browse to your audio/video file.

Then Start Recording.  The results will be saved to the Word document.
